Peach Picking Tips For You
Picking the perfect peach is part of the fun! Here are a few simple tips to help you find the juiciest fruit in our orchards:
- Choose peaches with smooth skin that feel firm but not hard.
- Look for a golden hue near the stem; pale yellow or green means it still needs time to ripen.
- A ripe peach will give slightly when gently squeezed.
- The softer the peach, the sooner you should eat it.
- If it doesn’t smell like a peach, it won’t taste like one either.
- Once home, separate ripe peaches from firmer ones.
- Store peaches stem-side down at room temperature.
- Fully ripe peaches can be placed in the fridge for a few days.
