Pumpkin season at Johnson’s Locust Hall Farm typically runs from late September through early November, depending on weather and harvest conditions. We keep our schedule updated online so you can plan your trip around peak picking days, special events, and holiday weekends.

What is the Best Month to Go Pumpkin Picking in New Jersey?

For the widest selection and best picking conditions, plan your visit from late September through October, with mid- to late October usually offering the biggest, most mature pumpkins. If you’re after smaller decorative pumpkins or gourds, aim for late September to early October.

Pumpkin Patch Prices

At Johnson’s Locust Hall Farm, pumpkins and gourds are priced by weight at $0.92 per pound. You’ll find everything from small, kid-friendly pumpkins to statement-making giants perfect for your front porch or fall display.

We recommend bringing a wagon or bag to carry your pumpkins back from the fields. Staff are always available to assist if you need help with larger finds.

Follow our farm road to each seasonal stop at your own pace. Families can spend hours exploring, snapping photos, and sampling fall treats. Be sure to stop by the farm market for apple cider, pies, pumpkin bread, and our famous cider donuts before heading home.

  • Tickets may sell out on peak weekends and holidays, so we recommend booking early.
  • Pets are welcome if leashed and well-behaved (though not permitted inside buildings).
